Donate in honor or in memoriam

As you plan gifts for family and friends this year, consider a gift that keeps on giving — long after the wedding, anniversary, birthday, graduation, holiday, or other special event or memorial. Upon receipt of your contribution, we will send an acknowledgment card indicating that you have made a gift to Habitat for Humanity of Corpus Christi in honor of, or in memory of, the person you are celebrating. Be sure to include the name and address of the person to whom you want to receive the acknowledgment card.

Wish your gift could go farther? It can! Many businesses, small and large, offer a matching gift program that can double or even triple individual, tax-deductible contributions made by their employees. By making a gift of stock or mutual fund shares, you can receive some attractive benefits:

With over 60% of Americans owning securities, more people are giving stocks, bonds, and mutual funds in support of affordable housing. By donating securities to Habitat for Humanity of Corpus Christi, you can benefit from tax savings that may allow you to donate more without an increased cost. Talk with your financial adviser, attorney, or accountant to determine if this is a good fit for you.

Estate planning

Consider leaving a lasting legacy to families in need who want to improve the lives of their families and children, by including Habitat for Humanity of Corpus Christi in your estate plans. You can continue your support in your will by giving:

Bequest in your will or revocable trust
Gift of life insurance naming Habitat for Humanity of Corpus Christi as the beneficiary
Gift of retirement benefits such as an IRA, 401K or 403(b)

Did you know that you can support our mission and receive a charitable deduction by donating your vacant lot or acreage to Habitat for Humanity of Corpus Christi? Give the gift of real estate and eliminate the headache of mowing and cleaning your vacant lot or acreage and the expense of paying taxes and insurance. Habitat is always looking for land to build more affordable homes.

We cannot utilize a property that is in the floodplain

Habitat is only able to do our great work through the great generosity of our partners. Corporate partners have a special place in our hearts as they often have immense energy and excitement for our work. They truly consider their gift an investment to the local community.

It all matters – funding both large and small amounts are what allows our homes to be built in partnership with our families in need. There are many ways to get involved with Habitat:

nonprofit sponsorship opportunities

Join Corpus Christi’s best organizations and partner with Habitat as a house sponsor. Corporate sponsorship can include sponsoring all or part of a Habitat home which truly helps Corpus Christi’s affordable housing crisis. Our flexible sponsorship levels and unique team-building opportunities are the perfect way to build morale, enhance your company’s visibility and image, develop communication and leadership skills while creating unforgettable memories for your group.

full house sponsorship

One organization (not to exceed 8 organizations) commits to funding the building of a Habitat home. Your organization has the opportunity to provide all or part of the volunteer labor needed to build the home.

half house sponsorship

One organization commits to funding the cost of half of a Habitat home. Your organization has the opportunity to provide all or part of the volunteer labor needed to help build half of the home.

day of purpose (Interactive Work Day / Tour of Site) — great for visiting groups

One organization commits to funding a minimum of $15,000 to have the opportunity for 30 – 45 of its participants to take part in this great interactive tour. This serves as nonprofit event sponsorship and can also serve as a team-building day. Participants will learn about Habitat on the bus and be able to put their hands to work on the Habitat site.

sponsor-a-day on the community build home

One organization commits to funding a day on a home. Rather than limiting it to one sponsor, we build this house with funds through partnerships with several different sponsors. Each sponsor has the opportunity to build on their scheduled day(s).

At any sponsorship level your business will benefit from the following:

Founded as an ecumenical Christian organization in 1989, Habitat for Humanity of Corpus Christi is driven by a desire to put faith into action. We believe each home built by Habitat serves as a vehicle for witnessing God’s love.

Born out of a commitment to shared principles, partnerships with local churches and faith organizations play an important part in our goal to eliminate substandard housing. Faith organizations provide us with much-needed volunteer, spiritual, and financial contributions. Congregations that partner with us find new ways to express their faith and experience a stronger sense of community through their service to God.

Though we are committed to our Christian identity, Habitat for Humanity of Corpus Christi warmly welcomes those of all faiths and no faiths to participate in all aspects of our ministry.

Ways to get involved

Provide funding

Create a plan for your church to raise funds to help with our home-building program. All levels of funding are welcome.

Joshua Build

Build walls at your church…host a Joshua Build

This program brings the worksite to you, transporting all tools, materials, and staff supervision to your site then directing the assembly of wall panels for a complete Habitat home. An outreach event has never been easier – we do all of the planning, supervision, and clean-up – you just provide the workspace and volunteers.

This is a perfect team-building activity for small groups, and works well over summer vacation or even a Sunday morning! Age restrictions differ from that of our construction site, so this is a wonderful way for parents to work alongside little ones.

Each project can accommodate about 40 people working at any given time and takes roughly 4 hours to complete. With flexible hours, Joshua Builds can be customized to meet the needs of your Sunday morning service, church festival, or corporate event.

Provide Lunches

Organize a group of volunteers to provide on-site meals to hungry volunteers.

Pray for us. Pray specifically for the lives and communities touched by Habitat.

Customize a Habitat project to fit your church and help meet your congregation’s ministry goals. Projects can be designed for students, singles, small groups, or the entire church.
